Lap Steel Slides
You cannot play a lap steel guitar without using a lap steel guitar slide. Basically, you gently press the slide on the strings, which are usually tuned to an open tuning, and move the slide up and down the fretboard for the different chords.Depending on the tuning you use, you may have to slant the bar slightly to pull of minor chords or different flavors of various chords, or to play a melody line. This takes some practice and more information on how to properly use the lap steel slide can be found in the numerous books that are available on the subject.
